Sister Claudia Hafstad
Hafstad

Sister Claudia Hafstad, wife and sweetheart of Brother Tom Hafstad, arrived home right on time at 1:45 PM on Monday, June 6, 2022 surrounded by her husband and daughters and in the arms of her Heavenly Father.

She leaves to cherish innumerable memories, her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Tom.  Together they raised their 3 daughters in a home in which God's grace was exemplified, teaching them how to be the type of wives and mothers that would be pleasing to the Lord.  Stacy Craddock of Leland, NC, Dawn Lawson of Woodbury, TN and Kelly Hunter of Greenbrier, TN.  She also leaves 3 sons that she loved deeply as her own that cherish her in return, Chris, Adam and Brian.  She undoubtedly placed imprints of her spirit on all of her beloved grandchildren, Ana and Alli Lawson, Noah Craddock, Kaitlyn Johns and Dylan and Chloe Hunter and her faithful companion, Muggs.

She was welcomed into the family of God over 40 years and without that welcoming the dash between 1947 and 2022 would've been in vain.  For those that knew her, she loved her flowers, loved the mountains, sang like an angel, loved her family, but above all - loved her Jesus.  One of her favorite hymns, In The Garden, couldn't be more true, "He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own. And the joy we share as we tarry there none other has ever known." She is now experiencing that fully.  She has run her race with patience and is now home where she belongs.  Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

A lady of few words - a humble spirit and a beautiful soul - an amazing example of the virtuous woman in the word of God speaks of.  There are no goodbyes, only "We will see you in the morning."

Funeral services celebrating the life of Sister Claudia was Friday, June 10, 2022 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Dodd officiating and burial followed in the Keltonburg Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Adam Lawson, Brian Hunter, Chris Craddock, James Hargrave, Scott Rice, and Jason Rice. Honorary pallbearers were Peyton Taylor, Noah Craddock, Dylan Hunter, and Matthew Newman.

In memory of Claudia, the family asks that you do whatever the Lord lays on your heart, in memory of her.

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.
