Funeral services for Alma Caldwell Swofford, 68, of Smithville were held Dec. 28 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bernard Houk officiated, with burial following in Whorton Springs Cemetery.

 

She passed away Dec. 26 at her residence in Smithville.

 

She was a Baptist and retired from Tenneco.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelah Shehane and Julie Williams Johnson; husbands, Norval Caldwell and Douglas Swofford; four sisters, Willine Saylors, Laura Jean Reeder, Mai and Mary Lattimore; six brothers, Frank, Maxie, Robert, Toy B., Ben, and Hoyte Shehane.

 

She is survived by one son, Adam (Sue) Caldwell; three daughters, Frances (Jimmy) Cates, Eva (Carl) Bandy, and Rita (Jimmy) Taylor; seven grandchildren, Chris Caldwell, Tabitha (John) Farmer, Betsy Cates, Heather (Brent) Reed, Kim (Michael) Keaton, Rebecca (Jonathon Moore), and Alex Keith; 14 great- grandchildren; Brooke Gannon, James (Caroline) Farmer, Hayden and Hastin Lincoln, Blaine and Madison Atnip, Christopher, Beth, and Bell Reed, Bentlee, Jaxon, and Asher Moore all of Smithville, and Gracie Caldwell of McMinnville; two sisters, Jessie Bell Johnson, and Frances (Harlon) Bates of Smithville.

 

Pallbearers included Chris Caldwell, Alex Keith, Brent Reed, Jonathan Moore, John Farmer, Bug Reeder, Robert Dameron, and Tony Reeder.

 

Love-Cantrell, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements
