Tatrow

 

Eva Lois Tatrow, 91, of Garden, Michigan died Aug. 13, 2015 at the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique.

 

She was born October 27, 1923 in DeKalb County, the daughter of Clarence and LuVerna (Bates) Johnson and attended school there. During World War II, she moved to Detroit and worked as a riveter in a bomber factory.

 

On October 6, 1946 the former Eva Lois Johnson married Robert Kenneth Tatrow in Garden. They made their home in Garden and he preceded her in death on October 10, 1987.

 

Most important to Lois was the time she spent with her family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, cooking, playing bingo, and going to the casino.

 

Lois is survived by her sons, "Bucky" (Brenda) Tatrow of Smithville, Kevin (Debbi Wilson) Tatrow of Garden, and Keith Tatrow of Garden; daughters, Laurel (Dennis) Jenkins of Sparta, Shelby (Frank) Lawrence of Smithville, Mary Jo (Corky) Britt of Smithville, and Claudia (Tom) Klink of Garden; daughter-in-law, Debbie Tatrow of Garden; 33 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Cantrell of Smithville, and Helen Poss of Tracey City; nieces and nephews; special family friends, Debbie Ansell, Jack Ansell, Franny Ansell, and Becky Barks; and her special caregiver, Denise Ansell.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Danny Tatrow, James Tatrow, Deborah Tatrow, and Joy Ann Tatrow; and her brother, John Johnson.

 

Funeral services were held August 16 at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Garden, with Celebrant Carole Cooper officiating.

 

Additional services were held August 19 from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

 

Pallbearers included; Justin Foster, Eli Porterfield, Cody Atnip, Bradley Tatrow, Steven Gandy, and Remington Tatrow.
