Thomas Freeland “Tommy” Gibbs, 62, of Alexandria passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville.
He was a truck driver and member of Upper Helton Baptist Church. There is no on that loved life more. Tommy was a devoted husband, father and friend, but he loved being a grandfather the most. He loved to sing, do imitations and give anyone and everyone a hard time. He was truly a character and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Tommy was born October 10, 1958 in Lebanon to parents, the late Freeland Gibbs and Ruby Moss.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years Sherrie Gibbs; children, Monica (Hunter)Hendrixson of Smithville, Megan (Josh) Lamberson of Watertown, Christi (David) Cunningham of Old Hickory and Jennifer Barlog (Travis Dodd) of McMinnville; grandchildren, Ella Hendrixson and Max Hendrixson, Chase Lamberson, Jessie Barlog and Jordoan Barlog; great-grandchild, Peyton Conner; mother, Ruby Gibbs of Alexandria; sisters, Sandra Fowler and Anita (Robert) Higgins both of Alexandria and Lisa (Clark) Oakley of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Linda Ray. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 at 2pm at Upper Helton Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Arms officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Cemetery.
Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, is in charge of the arrangements.
