Funeral services for T.J. Young, 86, of Smithville, were held Nov. 25 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. James Allen and Bro. Larry Steffee officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.   
Mr. Young passed away Nov. 22 at his residence. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the Teamsters Union Local 327 and affiliated with the Pomeroy Chapel Bethern in Christ Church. 
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Athelene Hullett Young and parents, Nathaniel and Ida Jane Bates Young.
Survivors include his two children, Jackie and Patsy Young and Larry and Janie Evans, all of Smithville; five grandchildren, Neal Young, of Smithville, Amanda and Brad Townsend, of Hillsboro, Brad and Rhonica Evans, of Smithville, Garry Evans, of Texas, and Kerrie and Stephen Gunter, of California; and five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob and Breanna Townsend and Brady and Neely Evans.
Serving as pallbearers were Neal Young, Garry Evans, Shane and Logan Hullett, Tim Young and Brad Townsend.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
