Funeral services for T.M. Hooper, 88, of Smithville were held Monday, April 18, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church.

 

Bro. John Carpenter officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

 

He passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

 

He was a Retired Banker at Citizens Bank, a member of the First United Methodist Church, a Navy Veteran, Mason at Short Mountain Lodge #373, and American Legion Post #0122.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Maggie Hooper; one sister, Louise Story; four brothers, Allen, Harry, Clyde, and Eddie Hooper.

 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Hooper of Smithville; son, Dr. Doug and Brenda Hooper of Smithville; daughter, Janet and Mike Eldridge of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Dr. Daniel Hooper of Nashville, Dr. Justin Hooper of Murfreesboro, Nathan Eldridge of Cookeville, David Eldridge of Cookeville, and Sarah Eldridge of Cookeville; brothers, Jack and Maryls Hooper of California, Billy and Mary Jane Hooper of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

 

 

Pallbearers included; Dr. Daniel Hooper, Dr. Justin Hooper, Nathan Eldridge, David Eldridge, Gary Anders, and Tommy Hooper.

 

Honorary Pallbearers; Friendship Class of Methodist Church.

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
