Byrd

Funeral service for Toledo Byrd, age 61, of Dowelltown was held December 13, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Connie Brown officiated with burial following in Poplar Hill Cemetery in Watertown.

Toledo passed away December 9, 2017 at her residence. She was a Pentecostal and worked as a switchboard operator with the V.A.

She was born January 10, 1956 to her parents, the late Melvin Edward and Gladys Alberta Adamson Byrd.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dean Yaney and Vetrice Cook; one brother, Clay Byrd; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Yaney and Billy Cook, Sr. and one sister-in-law, Linda Byrd.

She is survived by three children, Melvin (Shelia) McCloud of McMinnville, Todd McCloud of Smithville and Tolesha Suggs of Sparta; seven grandchildren, Brett Earls, Tyler, Logan and Lexi McCloud, Conner, Cadance and Jieseyn "Jiebo" Suggs; two great-grandchildren, Addyson and Melody Earls; two brothers, Jerry Byrd of Dowelltown and Frosty Byrd of Smithville; special caregiver and cousin, Penny Martin and Alexis Bennett. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Pallbearers included Stoney Maynard, Brett Earls, Logan McCloud, Mike Harrell, Monroe Florida and Bubba McCloud.

Honorary pallbearers were Jieseyn Suggs and Tyler McClound.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
