Funeral services for Arvid Turner, 81, of Smithville were held July 13 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.

 

Elder Arnold Bailey and Elder Josh Bell officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

 

He passed away July 10 at DeKalb Community Hospital.

 

He was a Baptist, and retired owner and operator of Sportsman Restaurant.

 

He was preceded in death by parents, Avery and Luevirta Hamilton Turner; wife, Dorothy Ward Turner; one daughter, Renita Kay Turner; one son, Ricky Allen Turner; one brighter, Charles Henry Turner; one sister, Delma Ruth Land.

 

He is survived by two sons, David and Charles Avery Turner both of Florida; two sisters, Emogene (Arnold) Bailey, and Brenda Jane Ray both of Smithville; step-children, J.R. (Loretta) Mullins of McMinnville, Brenda (Jeff) Safranik of Wisconsin, and Timothy Eugene Mullins of Smithville; special great nephew, Josh Bell of Smithville; special step-great grandson, Dylan Roller of Smithville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

 

Pallbearers included; George, David, Greg, and Greg Neal Ward, Doug Neal, Eugene Adkins, Paul Tramel, and Eric Johnson.

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements
