Funeral services for Van Jennings, 77, of Statesville were held Jan. 18 at Hunter Funeral Home. Rev. Allen Lyon officiated with burial following at Jennings Cemetery.Mr. Jennings passed away Jan.16 at University Medical Center in Lebanon.Born in DeKalb County, he was the son of the late Walter Ray Jennings and Maibelle Bethel Jennings. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Jennings and his wife, Ann.He was a graduate of Liberty High School and was a retired construction superintendent.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Armstrong Jennings: stepdaughter, DiAnne Gaddes and her husband, Floyd of Statesville; sisters, Linda (Roy Dee) Curtis of Watertown, and Sarah (Robert) Walker of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews also survive; special little buddy, Howie.Pallbearers included David W. Penuel, Randy and Ricky Jennings, Jim and Jason Brown, Lynn O’Neal, James Stanley, and Jack Armstrong.
