Funeral services for Violet Hooper Sanders, 90, of Smithville, were held March 30 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Robertson officiated with burial following in Whorton Springs Cemetery.   
Mrs. Sanders passed away March 27 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a retired housekeeper at DeKalb Hospital and was affiliated with Allen’s Chapel Methodist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benton Sanders; son, Jerry Sanders; parents, Abb and Eliza Ashburn Hooper; and three brothers, Herman, Lonnie and Thurman Hooper.
Sister-in-law, Wilma Hooper of Kansas and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews all survive Mrs. Sanders.
Pallbearers included Ralph Bradford, Casey Midget, Robert Rowe, Alfred Pedigo, Hugh Washer, Glyndon Houk and Joe Collins.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
