Violet Pedigo Sayre, age 93 of Cookeville passed away Tuesday April 18, 2023 at NHC of Cookeville.
She graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a degree in chemistry. After graduation she worked as a chemist in Cincinnati, OH where she met her husband, Clint Sayre. They were living in Birmingham, AL when Clint passed away. At that time Violet changed careers and became the bookkeeper for the Birmingham Children's Theatre until her retirement in 1999.
Violet was a gifted artist. Her knitting, quilting, needlepoint, and tatting was second to none. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt.
Violet was born September 2, 1929 in Smithville to the late John Lee Pedigo and Ethel Buckner Pedigo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Sayre, and brother, George Preston Pedigo.
She is survived by her sister, Rosemary Pedigo Ponte of Cookeville; brother, Joe Pedigo of Miami, FL; and many extended family.
Memorial services will be planned at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are being made by Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, Cookeville, is in charge of arrangements.
