Virginia "Ginger" McGee, 68
Virginia McGee

Virginia “Ginger” McGee, 68, entered eternal life on the morning of January 29th, 2022, her spirit is carried on by her only child Savanna McGee Dodds and husband Trey Dodds as well as her two cherished grandchildren Isacc Sasser and Kayci Murray.

In life Ginger enjoyed cooking for her family and making her famous fudge. She adored her eleven nieces and nephews and their children. She loved teaching her grandchildren how to cook and bake. Ginger enjoyed gardening and always enjoyed watching her plants grow. She said it was amazing to watch something grow from a seed into a beautiful plant. She took pride in her family. Her door was always open to anyone in need of advice even to the ones who did not want it. If you needed a haircut, she would offer but you would leave bald or fourteen inches shorter than you wanted. She was a great listener and shoulder to cry on. She will forever be missed and always celebrated in honor of her memory.

She is survived by her stepmother Geraldine Pack and her long term companion Luby Pinell, four siblings and spouses Danny and Nancy McGee, Terri and Terry Draper, Brian and Cindy McGee (Boudreaux), and Rita & Bob Moate, her family, and friends from every walk of life.

She is preceded in death by her father George McGee and maternal mother Theodora (Peggy) McGee, brother, Sammy McGee, and Aunt Scarlett McGee.

A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held on February 19, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.  Those donations can be made by calling or coming to the funeral home.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
