Walker

Funeral services Mrs. Grace Walker, 93 of Alexandria were held Nov. 11 at the First Baptist Church in Alexandria. Bro. Billie Friel officiated with interment following in Hillview Memorial Cemetery.

She passed away Nov. 8 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville.

Mrs. Walker was born September 11, 1921 in Liberty. The daughter of Eunie and Pearl Barry Givan.

She was married to Gordon Walker on September 10, 1942 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2010.

A son-in-law, Homer Edwards, also preceded her in death on August 18, 2004.

She was a 1938 graduate of Liberty High School and a longtime member of Alexandria First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughter, Helen Walker Edwards of Alexandria; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and LaVonne Walker of Alexandria; six grandchildren, Steve (Amy) Edwards of Murfreesboro, Angie (Keith) Garrett of Vonore, Tim (Nicole) Edwards of Knoxville; Julie (Kent) Beasley of Lebanon, Jill (Tim) Chappell of Alexandria, and Cindy (Kelsey) Evert of Alexandria; ten great-grandchildren, Logan, Emma, Ava, Audrey, Colton, Brady, Lola Klaire, Jack Walker, Ben Thomas, and James William.
