Walteen Caldwell Neely, 84, of Smithville, passed away Wednesday afternoon at NHC HealthCare Center. 

She was born Aug. 10, 1935 to her parents, the late Walter and Ailene Hendrixson Caldwell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Neely. 

Walteen was a member of the Covenant Baptist Church and long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Ladies Shrine.  She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Kevin (Rexanna) Neely of Smithville; six grandchildren, Matthew Royce (Kara) Neely, Erica Denise (Ben) Goering, Jeremiah Joseph (Monique) Pasley, Tabatha Marie (Deron) Batey, Jeffrey Daryl (Holly) Pasley, Matthew Allen Pasley; nine great-grandchildren, Jericho Zachariah Neely, Lazarus Clarence Neely, Jeremy Scott Fink, Dominic Leon (Brittany) Pasley, Landon Pasley, Miah Pasley, Elijah Scott, Sideny Scott, Skylar Scott; one great-great-grandchild, Blayke Marie Pasley; sister, Sarah Ellen Colwell of Dowelltown. 

Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bobby Thomason officiating and burial following in Keltonburg Cemetery. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gideon's International, Shriner's Children Hospital, St. Jude Children Hospital or Lighthouse Christian Camp, in memory of Ms. Walteen.  Pallbearers were Jeremiah Pasley, Matthew Neely, Dominic Pasley, Michael Pinegar, Timmy Colwell, Wayne Fisher. Honorary Pallbearers were Larry Johnson, Lee Neal, and Ben Goering.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
