Funeral services for Walter Roy Hale, 73, of Liberty were held March 4 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Shannon Cantrell and Bro. Gary Caplinger officiated with burial following at Hill View Cemetery.
Mr. Hale passed away March 1 at University Medical Center in Lebanon. He was retired from Alexandria Garment Factory and affiliated with the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Taylor Hale; two brothers Robert T. Hale and Floyd Hale Jr.; and a sister and brother-in-law Robbie and George Tramel.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years Joyce Hale of Liberty; two children Shannon (Yvonne) Hale of Smithville and Laura (Jerry) Hutchins of Dowelltown; four grandchildren Kathryn and Kaleb Hale of Smithville and Katlin and Kristen Hutchins of Dowelltown; two sisters Doris (Elmus) Johnson and Jo (Aubrey) Wright, all of Smithville; two sisters-in-law Willette Hale of Liberty and Peggy Hale of Smithville; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Brad Johnson, Jayson Johnson, Danny Hale, Bobby Hale, Jason Poss and Tim Cantrell.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville,  was in charge of the arrangements.
