Funeral service for Waltyne Young Cantrell, age 74, of the Johnson Chapel Community was held October 31, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Bonham Cemetery.

Waltyne passed away Ocotober 28, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. She was born December 26, 1942.

Waltyne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olen Hurl "Mammy" Cantrell; two daughters, Toni Cathey and Cindy Adams; grandson, Gregg Ferguson.

She is survived by her children, Tena (Tim) Ferguson of Collinwood, TN, Andrew (Jamie) Cantrell of Sparta, and Becky (Craig) Greenwood of Harriman, Utah; son-in-law, Greg Cathey of Morrison; nine grandchildren, Holly (Brad) Williams, Hailee Ferguson, Justin (Heather) Cathey, Judith Cathey, Sarah Cantrell, Hannah (Caleb) Johnson, Isaac Cantrell, London Greenwood and Thatcher Greenwood; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Gavin Williams and Abi Cathey, R.J. Torres; sisters, Judy (Jerry) Adams of Murfreesboro, Wanda Coppenger of Dibrell, Cynthia (Kelly) Basham of McMinnville and Patricia (Roger) Taylor of McMinnville; brothers, Steve Hutchison Murfreesboro, Jim (Marilyn) Hutchison of Murfreesboro, Gary (Lucy) Young of McMinnville, Ronald Young of Dibrell; sisters-in-law, Brenda (RV) Billings of Sparta, Phyllis (Bob) Malone of Sparta; Janice Cantrell of Sparta, and Debbie (Jerry) Luna of Sparta.

Pallbearers included Isaac Cantrell, Gary Young, Ronald Young, Wayne Adams, Jim Hutchins, Steve Hutchins, Justin Cathey, Tim Cantrell, Mark Cantrell, Kelly Adams, and Shannon Luna.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, TN, was in charge of the arrangements.
