Funeral services for William Bill Phillips, 76,  of Smithville were held Feb. 2 at  the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Joshua Phillips and Bro. Vincent Baker   officiated, with burial following at  Bethel Cemetery with military honors.
He passed away Jan. 31 at his residence.
He was a retired lab and x-ray technician, U.S. military veteran serving in the Marines, and affliated with Bethel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edna Cook Phillips; first wife, Nina Reeder Phillips; one brother, C.T. Phillips Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Freeda Robinson Phillips of Smithville; two sons, Randall and Amelia Phillips of Smithville, Marty and Teresa Phillips of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Joshua Phillips of Nashville and William Heath Phillips in the U.S. Navy; three step-children, Brenda Dilldine of Sparta, Cheryl Perkins and David Pedigo both of Smithville; step-grandchildren, Dustin Pedigo and Charica Perkins both of Smithville and Aareyann and Daylon Luna of Sparta; four sisters, Norma Gunter, Mary and Cordell Lawson and Jane Eller all of Smithville, and Faye and Don Campbell of McMinnville.
Pallbearers included; Heath, Barry, and Joey Phillips, Eddie and  Lawrence Cantrell, and Jeff and John Walker, and Richard Eller.
Love-Cantrell  Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
