William Earl Sowell, 79, of Alexandria passed away on November 6 at his residence.

He was born May 11, 1936 to his parents, William Rex Sowell and Grace Pirtle.


He was a Automotive Shop Manager at K-mart, served in the Navy, and was a Baptist.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Rex; brothers, Ray, Jackie, Raymond, Ricky and Paul.

 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Sowell of Alexandria; children, Diane Patton, Jeanie Johnson, both of Alexandria, Marilyn Keaton of Smithville, Bill (Angela) Sowell of Norene, Randy (Susan) Sowell and Bobby (Kim) Vickers both of Alexandria; grandchildren, Rodney Patton of Murfreesboro, Will Sowell of Smithville, Bailey Sowell, Jazmine Sowell,  of Norene, Destiny Jarboe of KY., and Colton Vickers and Kirsten Vickers of Alexandria; great-grandchildren, Liam Sowell and Harper Patton; Mother, Grace Sowell of Springfield; brothers, Joe (Sue) Sowell, Kenneth (Lynn) Sowell, Tommy (Setsuco) Sowell, and Jerry Sowell; sisters, Faye Beaty, Ruth (Keith) Rodgers,and  Linda Wix.

 

The family would like to give a special thank you to Avalon Hospice.

 

In Lieu of flowers the family requested that donations may be made to The Fisher House at V.A. Hospital in Murfreesboro.

 

A Memorial service to be held at a later date.

 

 

 

Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria was in charge of the arrangements.
