Willie Cole

William L. “Willie” Cole, 74, was born August 21, 1947 in Gray, Ky. and passed away May 16, 2022 at Quality Care in Lebanon.

Willie worked for T.V.A. but for a time he was a deputy for the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and assistant chief at the Alexandria Police Department. He also did block and concrete masonry.

Willie was preceded in death by his grandparents that raised him, Will and Mae Frost; his parents, Harold Cole and Annabelle Stanley; and his sister, Joann Stone.

Willie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah Goss Cole; his children, Tasha (Philip) Waggoner, Derrick Johnson (Kim Cantrell), Sheri Ford, Jerry (Margo) Cole, Toni Cole and Christy Lawson; grandchildren, Hagen, Hasten and Haven Waggoner and 11 more grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Thursday, May 19, 2022 in the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Wilson Williams officiated and burial followed in Salem Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Jerome Hale, Randy Campbell, Kenny Wright, Weasel Wilkerson, Blake Goad, Danny Ray Keaton, Donnie Frazier and Russell Estes.

Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, was in charge of the arrangements.
