A Celebration of Life for Wilma Hillis Tolbert, 91, of Smithville was held on Dec. 4 at Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall, with Dr. Carl McKelvey officiating and Bro. Paul Brown serving as song leader. Interment followed in Woodlawn’s Memorial Park’s Garden of the Last Supper.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1922 in Warren County, to the late James Robert and Lena Marie Hillis.
She passed away peacefully at the Webb House on Dec. 1.
She was a long time member of Vultee Church of Christ, and served there for many years as the church secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thomas Tolbert.
She is survived by her sons, Harrell (Gwen) Tolbert of Smithville, Tommy (Melissa) Tolbert of Nashville; three grandchildren, Tara Tolbert, Lauren (Drew) Whitfield and Lindsey Tolbert and her fiance, Chris Safley; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Tolbert of Murfreesboro; brother, Lloyd Hillis of Fairborn, OH.
