Funeral services for Betty H. Young, 65, of Smithville were held Dec. 31 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Bobby Thomason officiated, with burial following in Salem Cemetery.

She passed away Dec. 28 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 30, 1949 to the late James Garland and Ethel Mae Hale Gilley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Young; daughter, Tracey Whitehead.

She was a faithful Christian and a member of Covenant Baptist Church and a retired shirt factory worker.

She is survived by two daughters, Amanda (Bobby) Menzie and Leslie (Charles) Martin both of Smithville; three brothers, Randy Gilley of Liberty and Mark and Steve Young, both of Smithville.

There was a worship service held at DeKalb Funeral Chapel on Dec. 30. Bro. Bobby Thomason conducted the service.

Pallbearers included; Bobby Agee, Charles Young, John Parsley, Jamie McCormick, Jimmy Goad, and Steven Goad.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Covenant Baptist Church in memory of Ms. Betty.
