Zelda Renee Avent, age 50, of Smithville passed away suddenly February 3, 2024 at her residence.

An employee of Federal Mogul, she was born March 27, 1973, the daughter of Jeff Barnes of Manchester, TN and the late Sheron Ann Whitworth.

She was married to Chad Miles Avent of Smithville on October 26, 2012. In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by children, Ashly (Craig) Jones of Murfreesboro and Anthony (Shelby) Caldwell of Smithville; grandchildren, Roman, Destiny, Katelynn, Aroura, Anastasia and Orion Jones and Jaxon, Harper and Kimber Caldwell; and brother, Donnie Barnes of Manchester.

Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Charles Williams officiating. Burial followed at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County.

High Funeral Home, McMinnville, was in charge of arrangements.
