Cold takes its toll

Burrrrrrrrrrrr…. It has been cold!

The news around DeKalb County is the COLD weather.    Bitter cold and low temperatures has led to the sound of continuous water dripping to prevent the pipes from freezing and our new electric blanket getting some much needed usage at night.  We are not a fan of these cold temperatures.  It is hard on the animals, children and adults.  Hopefully this weather will pass soon.  Thank you Mr. Patrick Cripps and School Board for looking out for the children and bus drivers of DeKalb County.

Many of the churches have been canceling their services to help prevent the spreading of the sickness going around.  Flu, sinus infections, and bronchitis has plagued many this winter.  We pray for healthier days ahead for everyone.

Buddy and Deborah Fuson of Arkansas have returned to their home after spending most of December with your writer.  We miss them already, but look forward to their return around my birthday in July.  The care givers and children that live here are all back on their regular schedules after having some time off with their families.  We appreciate our constant care from home health to the daily care people.  It is good not to worry about life’s daily task.

Buddy got to visit with some of his family during December.  He enjoys seeing and visiting with several of his cousins, brother’s family, and friends.  Just after his departure back to Arkansas, his Aunt Georgia Johnson, (Aunt Jo) passed from this life.  Buddy had visited her while he was here and took her a box of chocolates, which a family member said she thoroughly enjoyed.  That will be a precious memory for him for years to come.

We send sympathy to the families of the following:  Magalene Ervin Dutton, Floyd Cantrell, and Poley Shelton.  These folks all had ties to Dry Creek during their time on earth.  We remember when Poley Shelton was saved and joined the Dry Creek Baptist Church.  Praise God.

Get well wishes go out to the following:  Jimmy Kimbrell, Boyd Cantrell, Lisa Caldwell, A.C. Johnson, Harold Dawes, Jerry Foster, and Tommy Prichard.  Tony Thompson went back to his doctor last week.  We are thankful he is getting a little stronger day after day.  Our dear friend Marlene Prichard’s husband, Tommy, has been sick most of the winter.  Please help us pray for this dear family.  We send our love to them.

If you do not have a church to attend please know you are always welcome to attend the Dry Creek Baptist Church.  We worship a living God.  He came as a baby, lived, died on the cross for ALL, and now sits at the right hand of the Father.  He is coming back…be ready.

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
