We would like to add our congratulations to Jerry “Red” Foster on his recent retirement of his DCHS basketball jersey number. He graduated with our youngest daughter, Lisa Cripps. Lisa was able to attend the ceremony at the Cannon County vs DeKalb County basketball game. Several members of the graduating class of 1976 attended: Al Smith, Donna Copeland, John and Karen Colvert, Mark Ours, Jackie Norton, Tommye Ann Sliger, and Terry Young. We enjoyed listening to the taped version on the radio. Chris Vance, English teacher at DCHS, did a fabulous job of doing the announcement. We thank all who provided information for those who could not attend.
Congratulations to Gentry Barnes on his retirement from Wilson Bank and Trust in Smithville. We know Gentry and his lovely wife Pat will spend many adventurous hours on their farm together.
There is still some logging going on just right above our home. One day last week the loggers ran out a big buck. We enjoyed watching him walking through the field until he disappeared into the creek area.
Please continue to pray for Jimmy Kimbrell who will be having more tests in Nashville. We heard Greg Ray, son of Ernest Ray, had a good report from his doctors. Continue to remember JoAnn Pitman and Harold Dawes in your prayers.
This life brings much suffering on our physical bodies we don’t always understand, but we do know the Lord is with us and when sickness attacks the body the Lord goes before us during the battle. Praise God!
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
