Dry Creek Flashes - Thanks for 101st birthday party

A special thank you to Dry Creek Baptist Church for the recognition of my 101st birthday at the Wednesday night special Fourth of July services. Our pastor, Donald Owens, friends and family are always so loving and kind to me.

The church provided a delicious hamburger cookout with all the trimmings, side dishes and homemade ice cream. Lisa Cripps of Dismal, provided several beautiful and delicious cakes. Also, the men of the church baked cakes which were judged by an elite panel of women judges. Many “blue ribbons” were awarded! Mrs. Dessa Ray, her husband Patrick and her parents were our special guests. Dessa sang several spiritual songs throughout the service. Thank you Dessa! In addition, Bro. Bobby Robinson led the congregation in a series of patriotic songs.

Wayne (Buddy) and Deborah Fuson of Cabot, Arkansas, are visiting her mother, Louise, and other relatives during the first three weeks of July. Their son, Jeff, and his wife, Meg, of Springville, visited his grandmother and other family members July 4.

Rita Fuson-Fraizer of Hermitage spent several days with her mother-in-law and other friends and family during the Fourth of July.

Mike and his mother, Betty McMillen of Mike’s Flower Shop in Alexandria, brought me a beautiful floral arrangement. Thank you Mike and Betty! Thank you to the WJLE Birthday Club and sponsor DeKalb Florist for the beautiful red roses!

Jeanette France visited with me on Tuesday. Thank you Jeanette for the sweet gift. We were so thankful to see you feeling better.

Ricky and Kathy Hendrix hosted a delicious Sunday dinner for family and friends. Jerry and Susan Hinton of Smithville visited with Buddy Fuson on Monday. Thanks to them and Edward and Francis Frazier for their card and gift.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Ernest Ray’s son, Greg and his family. Special prayers for Dry Creek Baptist members who lost loved ones this past week.

Dry Creek Baptist Church coming events included July 8 celebration of Mrs. Delores Jones’ birthday. On July 21, Saturday is the church family trip to the General Jackson. Leave at 9 a.m. and August 11-12, revival Friday night through Sunday night.

Guests are welcome to visit at Dry Creek Baptist Church with 10 a.m. Sunday School and 11 a.m. worship services.

Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.
