The excitement around our community has been last week’s lovely weather. Many flowers have been planted or repotted. It was nice to be outside the house for a few days in the sun. Jerald and Lisa Cripps planted a garden. We hope the weather stays nice for these plants.
May 1st was our monthly meeting for Delta Kappa Gamma. The members enjoyed an amazing dinner prepared by Linda Parris. The fund raiser for this month was to bring in all coins saved since last year. This has proved to be a successful fund raiser for our chapter for the past two years. It was good to be able to attend this meeting.
Russell Estes visited the Frazier household last Tuesday. He had picked a sack of Polk Sallet. Lisa Cripps cooked it up perfectly for our dinner the next day. Gail Thompson served it with corn bread and soup beans. We remember sending our two boys, Johnny and Ronnie, on horseback up on the hill to pick Polk many years ago. People don’t can Polk anymore, but I remember having it in the cellar, canned, when needed. Thank you Russell for remembering we love spring Polk Sallet, and for the sweet hugs. You have always been a dear friend to the Frazier family.
Jordan and Justin Cripps enjoyed a special dinner prepared by their families as a birthday celebration on May 3rd at the home of Jordan and Nicole Cripps, Dry Creek. Everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship. We wish out grandsons many more birthdays to come.
Happy Birthday wishes go out to our dear friend Jimmy Womack on the 7th. Jimmy’s family we have known for year. We hope you have a wonderful birthday.
