Dry Creek Baptist Church had another successful Vacation Bible School this year. It is always a blessing to work with children hat are eager to learn and grow in the Lord. Thank you parents for taking the time out of your busy schedules to bring them to VBS, great memories were made.
We are sad to say our dear cat Fluffy is missing. She always comes in from the fields to eat when I call, but lately she hasn’t been home. If anyone around the Dry Creek area has seen a large gray cat please notify us. She has been my patio companion for many years. We all miss her very much!
Your writer has been spending a few days with Ricky and Kathy Hendrix, and Jimmy and Judy Kimbrell. It is enjoyable to visit, but it is always good to get back home. It was good to visit with the Kimbrell’s dear neighbors and friends on Monday.
Well ... it is hard not to mention these pop up storms we are experiencing daily. It has sure put the gardens and hay on hold for the farmers. It seems like there is never any normal weather. Sad!
Our community sends sympathy to the family of Ron Rogers and Ponzell Usery. Two sweet people that had a gift for loving and caring for others.
If you do not have anything special to do on Saturday the 9th come on out to National Get OUTDOORS Day at Floating Mill Park and Hurricane Marina from 10am -3pm. There will be lots of free fun for the families that day, so take advantage of this great event.
We pray you will hear the “still, small voice” of the Lord in the hurricane that our lives often resemble.
1 Kings 19:11-13 (NKJV) God’s Revelation to Elijah
11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
