TO THE RESIDENTS OF DEKALB COUNTY
On May 3, 2010 I was arrested on charges of attempt to initiate the manufacture of “meth.” I was sentenced to six years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections to serve at 30 percent. I’m currently serving that sentence now.
At this time I would like to apologize to the residents of DeKalb County.
I know that “meth” is a deadly drug and that it is not only harmful to the user, but harmful to the community as well. People who cook meth tend to throw their trash on roadsides, creek banks or anywhere that no one can see.
If you happen to come upon plastic jugs, two-liter pop bottles, or Gatorade bottles containing a white substance, “please” do not touch these. Contact your sheriff’s department and report these items. These bottles could explode, causing serious injury or death.
People who use meth will generally be paranoid, hear things or even see things that are not there. They will hardly eat or sleep. Some people will even pick sores on their body, believing there are things in their skin.
I’ve seen these things happen to people first hand.
So, I ask you this, do you love your family and friends? If so please talk to someone if you or someone you know is using meth. There is help out there for users and family and friends of users.
Since I have been locked up for making meth, my father passed away. He passed on Dec. 27, 2010. That really broke my heart to lose my daddy.
Had I not been making meth and being sent to prison, I would have gotten to spend the time with him in his time of need. That is no one’s fault but my own. It will forever be on my mind, that meth took me from my daddy.
So again, I would like to say I’m sorry to the residents of DeKalb County for putting your loved ones as well as yourselves in danger by my making meth in our beautiful county.
Please forgive me!
Sincerely,
Kevin Bogle
