Thanks to the Mayor and County Commission
Letter to Editor

To the Editor:

I just want to thank Mayor Tim Stribling and the DeKalb County Commision for including in their budget automatic doors in the basement of the Courthouse.  I don't think many people realize how hard it is for someone in a wheelchair to roll themselves up the ramp. Once you get to the top, the door doesn't open in the right direction. Even on my scooter, I have to go to the end of the narrow top of the steps, turn around and go back to the door so that it will swing in the direction to let me enter.

There are double doors in the basement. Handicap folks, like myself, have to open and yet get themselves through both doors. This is going to make it so much easier. Not only to get to the elevator, but this will help those wanting to go to the Election Commission and vote.  And yes, thank you Dennis Stanley for your input and support to make it more accessible to vote.

Again, thank you.  You just made the the lives of DeKalb Countians just a little easier.
