1 Corinthians 2:9:
"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."
We can never really understand much about heaven in this life, partly because we find it impossible to think beyond the limits of time and space.. in this world we are bound by both time and space... but God is beyond those limits and so is that place he has prepared called heaven.... and some day we will be able to transcend those earthly limitations and then we will fully understand and also join our loved ones who have escaped both time and space before us..
One of the most intriguing subjects, and at the same time most impossible to understand here on earth, is the relationship between time and space and heaven..
The man who can figure it out would be able to get a glimpse of glory... but alas.. no matter how deeply we try to think... no earthly man will ever see through it, until through the door of death he passes and God pulls back the veil that prevents eye from beholding and ear from hearing... think about this and praise God for what we must accept by faith alone..
In some way our loved ones gone on before are both dead and alive at the same time.... do you long for the time when the veil of time and space will be pulled back so you can both see and hear what God has prepared.. for them that love him..
"And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
And so we read these words from the Bible....
2 Peter 3:8:
"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
And sometimes we wonder how many light years heaven may be from earth.. It doesn't matter.. because God is not limited by time and space.. As soon as we are absent from the body we are present with the Lord... praise God..
"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."
I don't think come quickly here meant soon.. when applied to the early church... but rather it means very fast...
1 Corinthians 15:52:
"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
As far as we can understand only earthly life is limited by time and space... unless there is indeed life on other.. planets... But heavenly creatures such as angels are not bound by time and space as we are... but someday we will leave earthly things behind.. and fly away.. praise the Lord..
Will there be gravity in heaven? I doubt it.. In fact most of the laws of physics will become null and void and unneeded.. and we will have a new body which is suited for heavenly life.. God created our earthly body suited for life here on earth... Our heavenly body will be suited for eternal life
And so here I stand for now.. but one day soon I will stand in another place.. prepared By God..
