Wake up Tennesseans, Before It Is Too Late
Letter to Editor

I came across a news station a couple of weeks ago, claiming Democrats are the reason for an unstable economy, high fuel prices, veterans feeling unsupported, and the baby formula shortage. This led me to research facts. I learned all 50 Senate Republicans voted against the Inflation Reduction Act that lowers healthcare costs and prescription drug costs for seniors. The purpose of the PACT Act is to provide medical care to soldiers, who breathed toxic fumes from burn pits overseas and 41 Republicans voted against it. In May, Republicans blamed the baby formula shortage on the Democrats, while 192 voted against a bill that would ease the baby formula shortage. Anyone starting to see the trend here? In February, Democrats proposed a bill to eliminate the federal fuel tax through the end of the year and yes, you guessed it, Republicans opposed that too. Here in our own state, our current Governor wants to privatize public schools, allocating one-fifth of the K-12 budget toward the privatization of our public schools.  The Republican running for District 40 for the House of Representatives, has received dark money from a group, promising to work toward privatizing public schools.  Eliminating public schools, would do away with PTO’s, Teachers Unions, School Boards, and would no longer afford a free education to Tennessee’s children.  If you are questioning the accuracy of anything in this letter, I urge you to research, and you will find it is all correct.
