The big topic last week was the big warm-up followed by the bitter cold weather with the threat of snow. The weather has changed so much in our life time. There just isn’t any good seasonal weather expectation to follow. We just always keep gloves and a coat handy or choose to stay in where it is warm all the time. Everyone stay safe out there!
It is good to have Gail Thompson back after being out a month during her husband’s surgery. Please continue to keep Tony in your prayers.
Jimmy Kimbrell is still sick and needs everyone’s prayers. He is seeing a new doctor in Nashville. We pray he gets better soon. Thank you to the church members filling in for Jimmy during this time. Get well wishes and prayers go out to Danny Pirtle Jr. who has been back in a Nashville hospital with complication after his heart surgery. Keep remembering little Brandon Kent who is having complications after having strep throat. We say “HELLO” to Mr. Tommy Webb who has not be feeling well this winter.
Nicole Cripps enjoyed a surprise birthday party given by her family and friends. Everyone enjoyed a night of fun and fellowship at the Center Hill Cross-fit gym. We wish Nicole a wonderful year of health and happiness.
We were saddened to hear of all the deaths in DeKalb County. Jerry George was a good friend to many in the Liberty area. He greeted most people at the Clover-Leaf Restaurant each morning at his seat by the door. It is sad to see his seat empty now. Marsha Herman was a young 55. We realize that is way too early to leave this earth. She had many dear friends and family members that need our prayers during these sad days. We can all lend a smile and hug to those we pass that suffer every day.
Remember the old hymn “We’ll Work till Jesus Comes”? There is much to do and a lot of witnessing to accomplish down at the Dry Creek Baptist Church. On January 21st at 11 a.m. Dry Creek Baptist will have a special guest for the morning service. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Mercer and Bill Cox will lead the music and sing. On Feb 9th and 10th couples will attend our yearly marriage retreat at the Ramada Inn in Lebanon. February 14th will be our special Valentines Party in the fellowship building starting at 4:30-6pm with pizza and then David Turner and his little friends will perform. Children and adults really enjoy this event, so feel free to join us at the Dry Creek Baptist Church.
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
