The unique paddle-powered River Bassin’ Tournament Trail brings it’s championship event to Silver Point’s Caney Fork Outdoors on Saturday, October 24th, with over $40,000 in cash and prizes. The ‘catch, photo, release’ river fishing kayak trail is open to anglers of all ages, skill levels, teams of two and individuals.
Anglers fishing the event will cast off on local rivers, targeting bass. Upon catching a fish, anglers can choose to use a digital camera or their smart phone to upload it live to the leader board. Here, fans can follow along with their favorite anglers to view their catches in real time. The angler with three longest bass and the team with the combined size longest bass will win their respective divisions and take home cash, trophies, and prizes.
This final event will pay anglers over $15,000 in cash or prizes, all the way down to 20th place. This makes this final tournament an ideal one to fish, even for the first time River Bassin’ Tournament participants. At tournament’s end, the event will also determine the overall River Basser of the Year and River Bassin’ Team of the Year, which are worth $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.
A door prize Jackson Kayak will also be given away to one fortunate angler or spectator at the event. Any person can purchase raffle tickets ($10) to have a chance to win the kayak. Proceeds are all donated to Paddle 4 Tomorrow, a non-profit that aims to give hope to others by getting them into kayaking.
Fans not fishing the event can still participate; Caney Fork Outdoors will be hosting a free fall festival, complete with games for kids, food, music, vendor booths, and a kayak sale. Attendees will want to take part in the festivities during the day and then stick around for the River Bassin’ Results Show, which begins at approximately 4:30 pm.
Kayak fishing personality, tournament trail founder, and host of Hooked on Wild Waters, Drew Gregory will host the River Bassin’ Results Show and award prizes. The day prior to the event, Friday October 23rd, Gregory will also be at Caney Fork Outdoors from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm to talk kayak fishing, show Hooked on Wild Waters episodes and go over any questions that anglers may have about the event.
"I got into kayak fishing to be able to catch fish in less pressured wild places, such as rivers or creeks that my boat couldn’t get to. Large reservoirs and lakes already have plenty of competitive series so I wanted to give kayak anglers a chance to have fun competing in the locations where the kayak really excels!" – Drew Gregory, River Bassin Founder and President
