Adcock signs to ride for UT Martin

Clark Adcock has committed to continue his education and rodeo career at the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM).
Adcock, the son of Joe and Chandra Adcock, recently signed a letter of intent to rodeo for the Skyhawks, competing in tie-down calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling.
Clark graduated as a Tennessee Scholar from DeKalb County High School and ranked in the Top Ten in his class with a 3.97 GPA.
Clark, at eighteen years of age, has a long history of rodeo competition. He entered his first open rodeo at the age of eight, and has competed in  youth, open, and professional rodeos since that time.
He is a four time qualifier to the National High School Finals Rodeo in Farmington, NM (2008 and 2009) and Gillette, WY (2010 and 2011).
He is a three time qualifier at the United States Calf Roping Championship in Stephenville, TX and also a three time qualifier to the United States Team Roping Championship in Oklahoma City, OK.
He is a member of Tennessee Valley Ropers Association, Middle Tennessee Ropers Association, Southern Rough Stock Rodeo Association, as well as the National and Tennessee High School Rodeo Associations (THSRA).
He is a former THSRA Champion Team Roper,  four time National High School Rodeo Association All-Star Rodeo team member, and is a two time THSRA Reserve All-Around Champion.
He has won multiple other Championships and awards for competition in various youth rodeo association, team roping associations, and open rodeos, receiving numerous buckles and saddles during his rodeo career.
He recently was awarded the Daniel Clemmons Memorial Scholarship for Outstanding Achievment in High School Rodeo and the Tesky's Top-Hand Horsemanship award.
Having been recruited by Western Oklahoma University, Missouri Valley College, and several other rodeo colleges and universities, Clark will major in Agribusiness while on a  rodeo scholarship to UTM  beginning in August 2011.
Rodeo Coach John Luthi stated he “is pleased Clark has decided to join our team” . UTM's rodeo team is one of the “winningest” rodeo programs in the Nation the last 30 years and has been chosen as the best program in the nation to encourage positive life choices.
UT Martin is centrally located between Memphis and Nashville in Martin, Tennessee, a rural West Tennessee town with strong agricultural industry.
UTM  has a student body of  approximately 8,100 and was founded in 1900.
The UT Martin rodeo team is as member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association and has the only collegiate rodeo team in the state.
The team has advanced to the College National Finals Rodeo for the past 14 years.
The  women's team captured the Ozark Region Championship in 2010 and 2011, while the men's team finished second in the Region the same years.
