The game between the DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints and Cannon County had a little extra significance last week when after the team's victory Head Coach Josh Agee was surprised with a banner made by the team, celebrating his 250th win.
The 18-year DMS coach said he didn't realize anyone knew about the statistic. "I had no idea they even knew anything about it. I had no idea."
"It's a great accomplishment," Coach Agee continued. "It's never been our goal to collect wins. We try to win them all to be honest. I've had a lot of great players, a lot of great assistants, and a lot of great support from the community. It takes a team. It's not me. I have the easy job."
When asked about his longevity as the Lady Saints' coach, Agee said he never thought he would last as long as he has. "I never thought I'd be in it this long. You just have to have a love for the game and have great people around you."
Congratulations coach and we look forward to more benchmark wins in the future.
