Anna-Mania continues to run wild on the links as DeKalb County golf prodigy Anna Chew smoked the competition at the region finals, shooting a 65, setting up an appearance this week at the state finals.

Chew improved on the 73 she shot just the week before when she won the district tourney by eight stokes on the same Golden Eagle Course in Cookeville. The eight-stroke improvement gave her a six-stroke win over second place Hannah Nall of Cleveland who had a 71 and Macy Moses of had a 77 to move on to the state.

Chew’s outstanding scorecard came as result of seven birdies and one eagle to give her the five-under-par result.

The win secured her a second straight appearance in the state finals. She finished with an 82 last year, tied for 18th in a one-day tourney that had its second round cancelled due to rain. The senior golfer will tee off Tuesday and Wednesday of this week at Willowbrook in Manchester in hopes of claiming a single’s championship in her final game as a Lady Tiger.
