The DeKalb West School Bulldogs had a hard week, with losses at home and on the road.
On Dec. 8, the Bulldogs were at home where they battled the Gordonsville Tigers.
It would be a tough start for DeKalb West, with the team shut out of the first period. Gordonsville came on strong, taking 18 points and a huge lead.
The Bulldogs got on the board in the second period with three points, all from Dallas Cook. Cook got a two-pointer and a free throw. The Tigers added 14 points, taking a 32-3 lead at halftime.
It got no better in the third period, with the Bulldogs again shut out of the period. Gordonsville got 42, taking a 42-3 lead.
Grayson Redmon had the only points for the Bulldogs in the fourth period, getting a two-point basket. Gordonsville finished with four points, getting the 46-5 victory.
On Dec. 11, the Bulldogs traveled to Smith County to face Smith County Middle. The game would not be any better for DWS.
The Bulldogs scored five points in the first period, with a three-pointer by Redmon, and a two-point basket by Cook. Smith came away with 14 points and a huge lead.
DWS got four points in the second period, with a pair of two-point shots by Cook. Smith took 10 points, and a 24-9 halftime lead.
Dillon Sullivan had a two-point basket in the third, while Levi Driver added a free throw point. DWS scored three, while Smith added 20, taking a 44-12 lead.
The Bulldogs got six points in the fourth, with Redmon, Noah Roberts, and Jathan Willoughby each getting a two-point basket. Smith added 12, taking a 56-18 victory.
Redmon was zero for four on free throws, while Driver was one for two.
