The DeKalb County Tigers are looking for a new baseball coach after Adam Kefauver resigned his post as skipper of the high school squad this week.
Kefauver announced this week that he is leaving his post of three years at the helm of the baseball team to take the job as assistant principal at Cookeville High School. His resignation comes just two weeks after he led the Tiger Baseball Camp.
His final season as coach in DeKalb County ended with a .500 record as the Tigers bowed out in the district semi-finals to Upperman. The coach admitted anything short of making the regionals was a disappointment but pointed to his young line up which is full of potential for the 2020 season.
Kefauver started coaching the Tigers in 2016, coming over from Stone Memorial where he had been coach and wellness teacher at the Crossville school.
Kefauver amassed a 50-37 overall record and went 23-11 in district play. He also notched one district championship during his tenure here.
The school system is presently in search of Kefauver’s replacement.
