Beetles feasting on my flowers

News from the Mountain

A lot is going on in our world today isn’t it? Have you found yourself praying more as a child of God during these difficult times? Rest assured God can take care of us and get us through this if we will look only to Him for the answer to all of this disturbance that is going on. Our nation needs to humble itself and pray for divine guidance from above if we are to maintain any law and order in our country. Violence breaking the law only leads to more unrest. Nothing can be accomplished for the good of all of us if God isn’t included in our daily prayers for help in these troublesome times.

On a lighter note those pesky Japanese beetles are all over my crepe myrtle bushes. This is just about the same time they showed up each summer. Why we keep having them around is a mystery to me. They love cannas and crepe myrtles. The beetles love to feast on those big canna leaves and can about destroy them if you don’t catch the beetles early on. Sevin Dust can eliminate them pretty quickly if applied.

Are you still trying to protect yourself from the deadly coronavirus? By all means keep up with those guidelines you have been given and hopefully we’ll get through this and, of course, asking God to keep His hands upon us.

Let’s keep these people in our prayers: Charlie Mai Daniel, Helen Nixon, Ronald Lawson, Dr. J.C. Wall, Talmage Young, Frank Stembridge, Ethelene Pedigo, and Jeanette Smithson.

Also remember those families in prayer that have lost loved ones: Peggy McClain, Bobby Pitts, and Linda Jeanette Scott.
