Junior coach-pitch teams met last week with some outstanding play by some young players.
On May 28, the DeKalb Community Bank Bucks faced off against the Tennco Bombers.
Isaac Hannah, Balian Sanders, and Bryson Trapp would each get one hit for the Bombers, while Seth Gibbs and Peyton Guess would come away with two. Alexander Antoniak, Peyton Saylors, Gracin South, and Martin Willingham would each get three hits.
Saylors and South each got a double in the game, while Willingham took two doubles. Saylors also had a triple, and joined Antoniak for a home run a piece.
For the Bucks Noah Culwell and Jackson Mathis each had one hit, while Hunter Cannon, Brett Page, Garrison Randolph, and Haven Sams each had two. Ian Barnes, Carson Donnell, and Gracie Randolph each had three hits.
Donnell and Page each had a double, with Randolph taking three doubles. Donnell, Mathis, Page, and Randolph each recorded a triple, while Cannon had two triples.
The Bucks came away with the win, 16-13.
That same day the Chargers met the Liberty State Bank Mustangs, with some big hits coming from the Chargers.
Bryson Arnold, Kholton Melton, and David Wheeler each had one hit for the Chargers, while Lacey England, Luke Midgett, and Zeva Robinson each came away with two. Owen Snipes took a whopping three hits during the game.
Midgett, Robinson, and Snipes each had a double in the game, while Robinson also took a triple, and Snipes took two triples. Midgett would also come away with a home run during play.
For the Mustangs, Marshall Farler, Emileigh Lassiter, and Mackenzie Neal each had one hit, with Katherine Knowles getting two. Dare Collins took three hits in the game.
Knowles and Lassiter each recorded a double during the game.
The Chargers took the victory 5-1.
The Hendrix Law Defenders played the Memorial Gardens’ Rascals that same day, with the Defenders taking the win 15-11.
Kobe Curtis got one hit for the Defenders, while Samuel Banks, Hunter Buchanan, Kale Martin,
Ian Smith, and Aidan Turner each got two. Jon Hendrix, Aaron Maple, and Connor McClure each had three hits.
Hendrix and Turner each recorded a double in the game, with McClure and Smith getting two doubles. Banks, Buchanan, Hendrix, McClure, and Turner each recorded triples, and Maple came away with a home run.
For the Rascals Andrew Dakas, Kolton Slager, Katherine Vickers, and Lilliana Vickers each got one hit, while Bryna Pelham, Kolby Slager, Brayden Summers, Austin Vickers, and Westin Wright each got two.
Pelham and Slager each took a double during play, while Summers had two. Dakas and Slager each had a triple, while Vickers and Wright each took a home run.
The DeKalb Funeral Chapel Titans played a shut-out against Kilgore’s Tigers that evening in a 16-0 win.
For the Tigers Whitleigh Chapman came away with the one and only hit for the game.
Maddox Hale, Kole Kangas, Kinsley Savage, and Briar Williams each got one hit for the Titans, with Seth Fuson, Wesley Kent, Paul Oliver, Skylar Savage, Tucker Webb, and Ty Webb each getting two.
Kangas, Oliver, Webb, and Webb each recorded a double in the game, while Kent got two doubles. Fuson and Oliver each had a triple, while Savage and Webb each had a home run.
