The DeKalb Youth Baseball League's Minor League was in action last week as their delayed season winds down.
On Monday, August 17, Taylor Construction took on Insta Cash in what would be a blow out.
Keegan Taylor, Eli Colwell, Anthony Moore, Hartley Hannah, Zander Simpson, Bryson Redmon, and J.W. Redmon each scored for Taylor, while Insta Cash went one, two and three.
Hayden Quarles, Moore, and Simpson, added three more runs for Taylor in the second, while Insta Cash was again held scoreless.
Things got no better for Insta Cash in the third. Colwell, Quarles, Moore, Hannah, Simpson, Redmon, and Redmon, each repeated for Taylor. Again, Insta Cash was held off the scoreboard. Taylor took the 17-0 shutout.
Hayden Quarles was the winning pitcher, with Eli Colwell in at the third. Collin Donnell threw for Insta Cash, with Landon Holmes in at the third.
That same evening, Davis Auto Body faced off against First Bank in a close game.
Davis Auto got on the board first, with Carson Davis and Preston Taylor each crossing home plate in the first inning, but First Bank countered, with two runs of their own. Reed Midgett and Andrew Cathy each had a run.
Neither team would score in the second inning, but Davis, Taylor, and Elliott Barnes would score for Davis in the third. First Bank kept things close when Grayson Cantrell scored a run in the third.
The game would go one more inning, but neither team would score and Davis Auto would get away with the 5-3 win.
Elliott Barnes was the winning pitcher, with Preston Taylor in relief in the third. Reed Midgett threw for First Bank, with Andrew Cathy coming in relief in the fourth.
