There were a few close games in the 12U Machine Pitch League last week, but one team played two games and left both their opponents scoreless.
On June 8, Goldstar faced the Lady Hornets in a close game.
For Goldstar, Stephanie Dodd had one hit, while Mackailyn Cherry, Gracie Dungy, Savannah Hesson, Makayla Key, and Ivy Spoon each got two. Kimberly Dodd had three hits. Dungy had a double in the game with Dodd getting a triple.
Paxton Dawson and Myla Dilligard each got a hit for the Lady Hornets, while Destiny Franklin and Mary Murray each got two. Jadyn Dawson and Justice Dawson each had three hits. Dawson had a double, as well as joining Murray for a home run.
Goldstar took the win, 9-7.
The Four Seasons Boat Storage Sharks took on the Lady Hornets in a game that would be the first of two shut-out wins for the Sharks.
Cassie Maxwell and Kiley Staley each had one hit for the Sharks, while Joni Robinson and Savanah White each had two. Kennedy Agee, Lydia Brown, and Leslie Hembree each had three hits. Brown and Hembree had doubles, with Staley having a triple.
For the Lady Hornets, Justice Dawson had the team’s only two hits.
The Sharks dominated with an 11-0 win.
The J&S Construction Commanders faced Subway in a game that saw some big hits from the Commanders.
Reagan Patton had one hit for the Commanders, with Kaitlyn Cantrell, Madison Rackley, Johna Summers, and Abbi Taylor each having two. Kaitlin Bain, Sarah Colwell, and Broklynn Estes each had three hits. Bain, Cantrell, and Estes each had a double, while Rackley had two doubles, and Colwell had three doubles. Bain and Patten each had a triple, while Estes also came away with a home run.
For Subway, Kailey Allen, Keydra Redd, and Kendra Whitehead each had one run, and a double.
The Lady Commanders win easily, 13-3.

Lydia Brown and Kiley Staley each had a hit for the Sharks, while Emme Colwell, Leslie Hembree, and Cassie Maxwell each had two. Kennedy Agee and Savanah White had three hits, with Joni Robinson getting four. Agee had a double, while Colwell and Robinson each had a triple. Robinson also recorded a home run.
For Goldstar, Stephanie Dodd, Gracie Dungy, Julianne Ford, Makayla Key, and Alexus Spoon each had one hit, while Mackailyn Cherry and Ivy Spoon each had two. Dungy recorded a double.
The Sharks devoured Goldstar, 12-0.
On June 10, The Lady Hornets met the J&S Construction Lady Commanders in a close one-point game.
Emme Colwell, Myla Dilligard, Emma Johnson, and Makayla Kirby each had one hit for the Lady Hornets, with Faedra Burns getting two hits. Joni Robinson had three hits, with two doubles. Colwell had a triple.
For the Lady Commanders, Kaitlin Bain, Kaitlyn Cantrell, Sarah Colwell, Johna Summers, and Abbi Taylor each got one hit, while Reagan Patton had two, and Broklynn Estes got three. Estes had a double, while Patton took a home run.
The Lady Commanders took the win, 6-5.
On June 13, Subway faced off against the Lady Hornets.
Heather Grooms, Savannah Hesson, Keydra Redd, and Kendra Whitehead each had one hit for Subway, while Zoey Layhem had two hits. Whitehead had a double, and Redd recorded a triple.
For the Lady Hornets, Maddie Cook had a hit, with Haliey Bogle, Faedra Burns, and Brooklyn Estes each getting two. Sara Anne Colwell, Destiny Franklin, Makayla Kirby, and Reagan Patton each had three hits. Patton had a double, while Franklin and Kirby each had two doubles. Colwell had a triple.
The Lady Hornets took the win, 15-3.
That same day Goldstar met the J&S Construction Lady Commanders.
Kimberly Dodd, Julianne Ford, Alexus Spoon, and Ivy Spoon each had one hit for Goldstar, while Stephanie Dodd, Savannah Hesson, Makayla Key, and Southerlane Lawrance each had two. Dodd, Ford, Hesson, and Spoon each had doubles, with Dodd also getting a triple.
For the Lady Comanders, Kaitlyn Cantrell had a hit, while Kaitlin Bain, Sarah Colwell, Reagan Patton, and Abbi Taylor each got two. Broklynn Estes, Laynie Rippee, and Johna Summers each had three hits. Cantrell and Colwell each had a double, while Estes , Patton, Rippee, and Summers each had two doubles. Rippee also had a triple.
The Lady Commander got the win, 15-5.
