The DeKalb West Bulldogs evened their season at two up, two down Monday night, holding off Algood for a 5-3 win.

They were led in hitting by Gabe Hollingsworth who went two-for three and batted in a run. He was the only Bulldog with multiple hits although Konnor Young made the most of his single knock as he also drove in a run.

The teams were deadlocked at three after one inning with DeKalb taking a one run lead in the second. That run would prove to be all they needed although they added insurance in the fifth when they plated another run.

DeKalb was actually outhit by their opponents, six to five but Algood was sloppier in the field, making three errors to one by the Bulldogs.

Konnor Young was credited with a complete game win, going all five innings, fanning eight batters along the way. He surrendered just one base on balls.
