Bulldogs fall to Bears

With the Thanksgiving holiday over with, the DeKalb West Bulldogs basketball team was back in action, taking on the Short Mountain Bears at home last Monday night. It would be a tough night for DWS, with the Bulldogs finding it hard to get the ball in the basket.

 

Grayson Redmon scored all five of the Bulldogs’ points in the first period, with a two-pointer and three points of off free throws. The Bears scored four points, giving DWS the one-point lead.

 

The Bulldogs scored six in the second period, with a two-point basket by Dallas Cook, and two points each off of free throws by Levi Driver and Lucas Hale. The Bears opened up with 10 points, taking a 14-11 lead at halftime.

 

DWS scored nine in the third period, with a pair of two-point shots by Redmon, and one each by Cody Antoniak and Garrett Hayes. Cook added one point off of a free throw. Short Mountain scored eight, with their lead narrowing, 22-20.

 

The Bulldogs scored five in the fourth period, with Redmon getting a couple of two-pointers, and Driver getting a free throw. The Bears sealed the game with seven points, taking a 29-25 win.

 

Redmon was three for five of free throws, while Cook was one for six. Levi Driver was three for six, while Garrett Driver was zero for one. Hale was two for two, while Nathaniel Crook was zero for one.
