The DeKalb West Bulldogs got out to a five run lead and held on for dear life, extended their win streak to six games with a 5-4 win over Livingston earlier this week.
It began nicely for the red-hot Bulldogs as they scored in each of the first three innings to give them a 5-0 advantage going into the fourth. However, Livingston woke up in the fourth and scored four runs, leaving them trailing by one going into the top of the fifth. The Bulldogs were able to slam the door and continue a win streak that began April 2 as they have lost only one game this month, that being a 3-1 game against Algood. The win also avenges a loss they had earlier this season in Livingston.
The win came despite Livingston outhitting the Bulldogs five to three. However, Livingston helped West by committing four errors on the afternoon. Briz Trapp and Konnor Young combined on the hill, striking out three.
