The DeKalb West School Bulldogs were back in action last week, continuing their road trips to Forks River and then Watertown.
On Monday, November 27, the boys traveled to Forks River where they faced a tough match. The Bulldogs would take the early lead, but fall off throughout the game.
The Bulldogs scored 12 points in the first period, with a couple of three-point baskets by Porter Hancock, and a pair of two-point shots by Drew Cook. Levi Cripps added two free throw points. Forks River came away with nine points.
DWS added 10 points to the board in the second, with Cook and Carson Davis each with a pair of two-pointers, and Hancock with one. Forks River was held to seven, giving DeKalb the 22-16 halftime lead.
Hancock hit a three-point shot for the Bulldogs in the third, while Davis added a two-pointer. Forks River jumped out with 14 points, taking the 30-27 lead.
The Bulldogs ended the game with seven points. Hancock had a two-pointer and a pair of free throws, while Cripps added a two-pointer and one free throw point. Forks River rolled on with 14 points and the 48-34 win.
The following Thursday, the team was again on the road, this time taking on Watertown. It would be a good night for DWS.
The Bulldogs put 11 points on the board in the first period, with Cook sinking a couple of two-pointers, while Davis had a two-pointer and a free throw. Cripps and Domminic Williamson each had one two-point shot. Watertown came away with 15 points.
DWS added 11 more to the board in the second period, with Davis hitting a two and three-point basket, Cripps a pair of two-pointers, and Cook two free throws. Watertown was held to nine, giving them the narrow 24-22 lead at the half.
Cripps had a couple of two-point shots for the Bulldogs in the third, while Cook had one. Watertown added 10 points, going up 34-28.
Davis caught fire for the Bulldogs in the fourth hitting five two-point baskets and three free throws. Cripps and Williamson also had two-point baskets. Watertown was held to eight points, giving the Bulldogs the 45-42 victory.
