The DeKalb Lady Tiger Soccer Team faced Central Magnet on sept. 27, taking a 7-1 beating from the team from Murfreesboro.
While Lady Tiger Goalie Meghan Brandt recorded an impressive 16 saves in the match, it was not enough to overcome the relentless CM attack. DeKalb’s lone goal came in the 55th minute, when Haleigh Bass put one in the net with an assist from Taylor Spare.
Central Magnet saw goals scored by Liz Tonk (3), Abagail Sandman (2), and Madison Shae (2). Abagail Sandman added an assist, as did Gabby Ortega, Sarah Peters and Jenny Peters.
The Lady Tigers, now 5-6-2 on the season and 2-2 in region play, will finish the regular season facing Cumberland County in Smithville at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 4, and Watertown here on Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
Post season play will begin on Oct. 8 with a 4th vs 5th Play-in.
The first round of district tournaments will begin on Oct. 10, the second round is set for Oct. 11, and the district championship is scheduled for Oct. 13. The region tourney will begin on Oct. 18. Times and locations have yet to be announced.
