Anna Chew and Isaac Walker have qualified for the state high school golf championships this week in Manchester.

DeKalb High’s top golfers are bound for the state tournament after qualifying in the regional tournament in Cleveland Monday.

Senior Isaac Walker and Junior Anna Chew both advanced to the state tournament which will be held at Willowbrook Country Club near Manchester this Tuesday and Wednesday. The 36-hole tournament will pit the state’s best boys and girls golfers.

According to DeKalb Golf Coach John Pryor, Walker finished second in the regional tournament, firing a 76, just one shot back from regional winner Dalton Sutton of Walker Valley, his round good enough for second place. His finish comes from a field of 39 golfers who were in the qualifying tournament.

Meanwhile, Chew fired an 81, finishing eight strokes behind winner Hannah Nall. Her round was good enough for third place out of a field of 27 of the region’s top female high school golfers.
