The DeKalb Junior Pro Middle Boys Division have been on the court for the past several weeks, with several close games being played. The division is showing some great young talent and the future of DeKalb County basketball.
On Feb. 22, Ellis Electric Shock took on Optimus Pest Solutions.
For Ellis, Axel Aldino scored seven points, while Levi Driver had five, Garrett Hayes four, and Brandon McCoy and Ty Panker each scored two.
Evan Sprague came away with six points for Optimus, while Jacob Johnson had four, and Nixson Murphy and Jacob Winchester each had two.
Ellis Electric Shock took the win, 20-14.
That same day, The Heat came away with a big win over Kilgore’s, 19-15.
For The Heat, Isaac Knowles had a good day, scoring 11 points. Antwon McCoy and Brayden Tubbs each had three points, while Patrick Cantrell scored two.
Silas Cross scored 11 points for Kilgore’s. Conner Crabtree and Gage Trapp each took two points.
On Feb. 15, Kilgore's faced off with Ellis Electric Shock, with Ellis taking a 26-15 win.
For Kilgore’s, J.J. Pack scored four points, while Silas Cross had three. Conner Crabtree, Grayson Hendrix, Holden Hendrix, and Desmond Nokes each scored two points.
Axel Aldino had 13 points for Ellis, while Levi Driver took five. Josh Moon, Ty Panker, Will Pursell, and Matt Rowe each had two points.
That same day, Optimus Pest Solutions took on The Heat in what would be a battle.
Brayden Given and Evan Sprague each scored six points for Optimus, while Alex Colwell took four. Aiden Curtis, Jacob Johnson, and Damien Tindall each scored two.
Spencer Buchanan and Brady Pichey each scored seven for The Heat, while Patrick Cantrell scored four and Isaac Knowles got five.
The Heat would get the narrow win, 23-22.
On Feb. 8, Optimus Pest Solutions got a win over Kilgore’s, 13-8.
For Optimus, Evan Sprague scored six points, while Jacob Johnson, Nixson Murphy, and Jacob Winchester each had two.
Desmond Nokes scored four for Kilgore’s, while Silas Cross and Holden Hendrix each had two.
Ellis Electric Shock came out on top in a game with The Heat that same day, taking a close 24-21 win.
For The Heat, Isaac McCoy came away with nine points, while Brady Pichey took four. Patrick Cantrell, Cody Colwell, Antwon McCoy, and Brayden Tubbs each scored two.
Will Pursell scored 10 points for Ellis, while Levi Driver got eight. Axel Aldino scored six.
On Feb. 1, another round of games were played.
The Heat came away with a victory over Kilgore’s, 18-10.
Holden Hendrix scored four points for Kilgore’s, while Grayson Hendrix, JJ Pack, and Avery South each scored two.
Isaac Knowles scored six for The Heat, while Antwon McCoy and Brady Pichey each came away with four. Spencer Buchanan and Patrick Cantrell each got two.
Ellis Electric Shock got a 15-11 win over Optimus Pest Solutions that same day.
For Ellis, Axel Aldino, Levi Driver, and Garrett Hayes each scored four points, while Brandon McCoy had three. Optimus Pest Solutions had no individual scores listed in the game results.
Later, Kilgore's came away with a narrow win over Optimus Pest Solutions, 6-5.
Silas Cross, Grayson Hendrix, and Kolter Kilgore each scored two points for Kilgore’s.
Jacob Johnson scored four points for Optimus, while Brayden Given scored one.
Another close victory was seen that day with Ellis Electric Shock winning over The Heat, 11-10.
Will Pursell scored five for Ellis, with Axel Aldino, Levi Driver, and Garrett Hayes each getting two.
Isaac Knowles scored four for The Heat, while Spencer Buchanan, Antwon McCoy, and Brady Pichey each had two.
On Jan. 25, Ellis Electric Shock won over Kilgore's, 10-6.
Garrett Hayes scored six points for Ellis, while Will Pursell came away with four.
J.J. Pack had four points for Kilgores, with Avery South getting two.
The Heat won a close one with Optimus Pest Solutions, taking the victory 14-12.
Isaac Knowles scored five for The Heat, with Spencer Buchanan getting four, Antwon McCoy three, and Cody Colwell two.
