With several local high school sports coming to an end, attention is turned to the local youth baseball games. DeKalb coach-pitch and machine-pitch leagues have released some statistics on games played over the past few weeks.
On May 3, the Jr. Coach Pitch league played a couple of games with several players standing out for hitting. In one game the Memorial Gardens Rascals beat Kilgores Tigers in a 12-7 match-up.
During the game Kolton Slager, Brayden Summers, Austin Vickers and Katherine Vickers each came away with one hit for the Rascals, while Andrew Dakas, Annabella Dakas, Aiden Taylor, and Lilliana Vickers each took two. Bryna Pelham, Kolby Slager, and Westin Wright each had three hits. Slager, Austin Vickers, and Katherine Vickers recorded doubles in the game for the Rascals, while Taylor got two doubles. Wright had triple and Dakas came away with a home run.
Batting for the Tigers was also hot with Layne Cobb, Gaven Cool, and Javen Walker each getting one hit, and Kora Kilgore, Whitleigh Chapman, Jordan Parker, and Mason Taylor having two. Alex Lemons got three hits in the game. Chapman, Cool, and Kilgore each took doubles during play, while Lemons had a double and a triple. Cobb and Taylor each had a home run.
That same day the DeKalb Funeral Chapel Titans took on the DCB Bucks in a close game with the Bucks winning 10-9.
Paul Oliver, Kinsley Savage, Jordyn Agee and Maddox Hale each got one hit for the Titans, with Seth Fuson, Avery Agee, Kole Kangas, Tucker Webb, and Briar Williams each coming away with two. Wesley Kent and Ty Webb took three hits during the game. Kent, Savage, Webb, and Williams hit doubles, while Fuson and Webb took triples.
Hitting was stronger for the Bucks with Gracie Randolph, Carson Donnell, and Addison Hale each getting two hits, while Noah Culwell and Brett Page got three. Garrison Randolph had four hits in the game. Culwell and Hale each had a double, while Page had two doubles. Donnell had a home run and Randolph recorded two home runs.
On April 30, four teams met, showing some heavy batting totals. The DeKalb Animal Clinic Critters faced off against the Rascals, with the Rascals coming out on top with a 13-5 win.
Axel Aranda, Carter Benson, Savory Brown, Ellie Dillard, and Leonardo Perales each had a hit for the Critters, while Cesar Celaya and Maria Little had two. Aranda, Benson, Dillard, Little, and Perales recorded doubles during the game with Brown getting a triple.
For the Rascals, Kolby Slager, Annabella Dakas, Aiden Taylor, and Katherine Vickers each had one hit, with Andrew Dakas, Bradley Pelham, Kolton Slager, Brayden Summers, and Austin Vickers each coming away with two. Bryna Pelham and Westin Wright each had three. Dakas and Pelham had doubles during play, while Wright came in with a home run.
The DCB Bucks took on the Hendrix Law Defenders, handling the Defenders with a 20-7 win.
Ian Barnes, Addison Hale, and Haven Sams had one hit for the Bucks, with Garrison Randolph and Gracie Randolph each having two. Hunter Cannon, Landon Colwell, Noah Culwell, Carson Donnell, Jackson Mathis, and Brett Page each had three hits. Randolph had a double in the game, with Colwell, Culwell, and Mathis having two doubles. Donnell recorded three doubles during play. Mathis, Garrison Randolph, and Gracie Randolph each had a triple, with Page getting two triples. Cannon, Page, and Randolph each took home runs in the game.
For the Defenders, Hunter Buchanan, Kobe Curtis, Leah Johnson, Aaron Maple, Kale Martin, Ian Smith, and Makayla Turner each had one hit, while Jon Hendrix, Jamison Hooper, Connor McClure, and Aidan Turner each had two. Curtis, Hendrix, and Turner each had doubles in the game.
In 12U Girls Machine Pitch action, the J & S Construction Lady Commanders took on the Four Seasons Boat Storage Sharks on May 2, with the Sharks coming out on top 6-0.
For the Lady Commanders, Sarah Colwell, Reagan Patton, and Madison Rackley each took one hit, with Abbi Taylor getting two. Patton recorded a double in the game.
Kennedy Agee, Lydia Brown, Leslie Hembree, Cassie Maxwell, Cheyenne Maxwell, Joni Robinson, Kiley Staley, and Megan Walker each had one hit for the Sharks, while Emme Colwell and Savanah White each had two. Maxwell recorded a double during play, with Brown getting a triple and Colwell taking a home run.
On May 13 a couple of 9U Machine Pitch Fastpitch games were played. In the first game the Pates Ford Boat Locker Lakers met Headlines Razors with the Lakers coming away with the win, 9-5.
Teshia Goff, Maeloree Kirby, and Briahna Murphy each had one hit for the Lakers with Emma Johnson, Alexis Cudney, Macey Lassiter, Keegon Martin, Jazmine Wagner, and Layla Walker each having two. Cudney and Goff recorded doubles while Lassiter had two doubles in the game. Wagner recorded a triple.
For the Razors, Mackensie Saylors made one hit, with Xharia Lyons and Haylee Merriman each getting two. Courtney London and Sadie West each had three. London had two doubles in the game and West took a triple.
That same day the DTC Diamonds met First Bank in a close game, with First Bank taking the win 13-12.
Reanna O'Connell and Morgan Walker each had one hit for the Diamonds, while Jackyne Mclaughlin and Kennedy Polk each had two. Katie Colwell, Aly Griffith, Natalie Snipes, and
Kenlee Taylor each had three. Taylor, Mclaughlin, and Walker each had doubles in the game, with Colwell and Snipes recording two doubles. Mclaughlin also took a home run.
First Bank, a mystery team with no last names listed, had several hits with
Hennessy B., Arianna H., Kendall M., Makenzie M., and Hanah W. each having one hit. Abby W. and Madison B. had two hits with Zoe B., Blake G., and Allie T. each had three.
